Annachiara Cariola received the B.Sc. degree and the M.Sc. degree (cum laude) in Medical Systems Engineering, in 2022 and 2024, respectively. During her master thesis, she focused on the development and evaluation of CNNs models for brain tumor segmentation using MRI data under the supervision of Prof. Vitoantonio Bevilacqua and Prof. Antonio Brunetti. Since January 2025, she is a Research Fellow at the Polytechnic University of Bari working on the PNRR Complementary D34H project.
Since November 2025, she is a Ph.D. Student in Electrical and Information Engineering at the Doctoral School of the Polytechnic University of Bari. The research project aims to develop explainable decision support systems capable of streamlining clinical workflows, reducing diagnostic latency, and supporting personalized therapeutic planning in neurological care.
