Simona Monfreda received the B.Sc. degree and the M.Sc. degree (cum laude) in Medical Systems Engineering, in 2022 and 2024, respectively. During her master thesis, she designed and developed a system for the automatic characterization of skin lesions under the supervision of Prof. Vitoantonio Bevilacqua and Prof. Antonio Brunetti. Since November 2024, she is a Ph.D. Student in Autonomous Systems at the Industrial Informatics Laboratory, DEI, Polytechnic University of Bari. The research project aims to develop intelligent systems to assist in dermatological decision-making within the context of proximity healthcare, improving diagnostic precision and access to care.
