Eng. Francesco Berloco

PhD Student in Electrical and Information Engineering

Francesco Berloco received the B.Sc. degree in Computer Science and Automation Engineering and the M.Sc. degree (cum laude) in Computer Engineering from Polytechnic University of Bari, Bari, Italy, in 2018 and 2021, respectively. His master’s thesis concerned the analysis and the development of a Big Data Processing Pipeline for logistics processes under the supervision of Prof. Simona Colucci and Eng. Enrico Fais.
In 2020, he worked as graduate research fellow at the Lab IoT 4.0 at Polytechnic University of Bari, in collaboration with ISIRES and Elettric80 – “Software Architecture to support IoT Systems for the integrated logistic” project, studying and analysing the information system of Elettric80 to re-engineer it and developing a Machine Learning pipeline using Apache Spark in order to process the big data generated by logistic processes.
Since November 2021, he is a Ph.D. Student in Electrical and Information Engineering at the Industrial Informatics Laboratory, DEI, Polytechnic University of Bari, Bari. His main research interests include Big Data Analysis, Deep Learning and Bioinformatics.
